Sample Transportation
The Precursor To High Quality Reporting
The transport of specimen samples for an allergy diagnostic test is an important aspect for ensuring accurate and reliable test results.

The following steps are followed by PoleStar for the safe and effective transport of specimen samples :

1. Sample Collection: The Allergy Partner shall collect the sample according to the instructions provided by the PoleStar lab team and ensure that the sample is properly labelled with the patient's unique identification information.

2. Specimen Stability: The Allergy Partner will ensure that the sample is stable and maintain it at the appropriate temperature (maintain cold chain throughout transportation) in order to prevent deterioration of the sample.

3. Sample Transport Box (STB): PoleStar has created various transport boxes that ensure the stability of the sample during transport. The sample transportation boxes ensure appropriate temperature of the sample is maintained and prevents contamination of the sample.

4. Shipping Method: Effective shipping methods such as overnight courier are utilized to ensure timely delivery of the samples to the laboratory.
5. Documentation: Documentation at all steps is crucial to ensure sample stability, integrity and traceability. Rigorous documentation also enables continuous improvement in the process cycle which is a key belief at Polestar. Documenting different details like type of sample, time of collection, temperature of sample during collection, transport method etc. ensures no stones are left unturned and the true clinical picture can be accurately determined at the diagnostic lab. 6. Chain Of Custody: A chain of custody for the sample is maintained, which is a record of the personnel who have handled the sample from the time of collection to the time of report analysis. 7. End-To-End Monitoring System: Ensures high quality test results that will play a transformative role in patient care.
